Aston Villa boss Dean Smith wants to bring in a new number nine this summer.

Villa are looking to bring in another forward this summer, as they look to fill the void left by Tammy Abraham’s departure.
In an ideal world Villa would sign Abraham again from Chelsea, but that is proving to be very difficult.
The Birmingham Mail now suggest that Dean Smith has Dwight Gayle and Neal Maupay in mind from potential targets.

However, Pitarch is said to be scouring Europe for options, and a striker could therefore arrive from overseas.
Villa have been linked with Maxi Gomez of Celta Vigo today, and Pitarch’s plan may well give credence to those rumours.
The claret and blues have already been active this summer, with Jota arriving and Anwar El Ghazi and Kortney Hause expected to join soon.
