The Sheffield Wednesday striker could leave Hillsborough on loan, with Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers potential destinations.

Sheffield Wednesday are ready to cut their losses on Jordan Rhodes this summer, with Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers likely suitors, according to the Sun.
The report claims Wednesday could even loan out the striker, for whom they are said to have paid £10 million in January 2017, and may have to settle for a slice of his wages being paid.
Rhodes had scored 91 goals in 189 Championship games at the time of his move to Hillsborough, which saw him reunited with his father, Andy, the Owls’ goalkeeper coach. However, his league record for Wednesday is just seven in 46 – although he has scored twice in four cup appearances.
Bolton were on the receiving end of both of those earlier in the campaign, and according to the Sun the Trotters ‘would be bidders if they stay in the Championship’.

Ipswich meanwhile are said to have tried for Rhodes during the January transfer window and ‘may be back’ this summer, the newspaper reports.
Asked about his interest in Rhodes – who began his career at Ipswich – Town boss Mick McCarthy told the East Anglian Daily Times earlier this month: “If they [Wednesday] wanted him off the wage bill we weren’t going to pay it.”
Ipswich [David McGoldrick] and Bolton [Aaron Wilbraham – who scored against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend] each have strikers out of contract from June.
Will Rhodes ever return to his best at Sheffield Wednesday?
