Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly likely to sign Romeo Lavia ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Liverpool target Romeo Lavia could end up at Arsenal
The Guardian have reported that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal have held talks over signing Lavia from the Saints.
Southampton will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.
So, it is hard to see the Saints keep hold of their best players, including Lavia, who is “such a rare player”, according to former Manchester City defender and Burnley manager Vincent Kompany in Het Nieuwsblad in September 2021.
Chelsea “have registered interest” in the Belgium international defensive midfielder, according to The Guardian, who have added that despite being watched by Manchester United and Liverpool, “there is growing belief he will end up at Arsenal”.

Summer transfer possible
In our opinion, it is very much possible that Arsenal will be able to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
It is really hard to see the 19-year-old Belgian turn down the chance to move to the Gunners.
After all, Arsenal are a much bigger club than Southampton and will compete for the Premier League title as well as play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Moreover, there is no guarantee that Southampton will get promoted from the Southampton anytime soon.
