According to Bild, Borussia Monchengladbach are hoping for a quick resolution to Harry Kane’s future, with Tottenham keen on Marcus Thuram.

Kane allegedly wants to leave Tottenham this summer, and rumours of a move to Manchester City have ramped up today.

Tottenham will likely stand firm, but other clubs are seemingly looking at the situation with interested as they consider selling their stars.

Gladbach hoping for Tottenham interest in Thuram

The reason Gladbach are so interested is that they think Tottenham could look to spend money from a Kane sale on their attacker Marcus Thuram.

Tottenham are thought to be keen on Thuram, whose release clause at Gladbach is thought to have expired, meaning they can dictate his asking price.

Gladbach need to sell either Thuram or Denis Zakaria to then fund a new contract for star defender Matthias Ginter, hence their desire to know where they stand with Tottenham.

Would Thuram be a good signing for Spurs?

Thuram, 23, primarily plays as a winger rather than as a striker, so that’s something Tottenham would need to think about if they spent any Kane money on the Frenchman.

He has played as a striker before, and at 6ft 4in tall, he’s certainly a huge presence in attack, and his versatility will be appealing.

Thuram has a big future ahead of him, and after hitting 11 goals and 12 assists last season, he has a well-rounded game that would make him a strong addition – as long as he’s joined by another more natural striker.
