Spartak Moscow want Sasa Lukic from Torino – and that could be music to the ears of many at West Ham United given their pursuit of Alex Kral.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Spartak have an offer on the table for Lukic, and he is interested in making the move to Russia.
Lukic, 24, primarily plays as a holding midfielder and has racked up more than 100 appearances for Torino since joining from Partizan in 2016.
Boost for West Ham in Kral pursuit
West Ham are currently chasing Spartak midfielder Alex Kral, with Eurosport claiming that they’re trying to rush through a deal before Euro 2020.
David Moyes even picked out Kral as one of the top seven players to watch at Euro 2020, which is a massive hint that West Ham are keen.
Spartak going for another midfielder suggests that they’re now eyeing potential replacements for Kral, especially given that they have limited non-Russian player slots.
Czech international Kral out and Serbian ace Lukic in makes perfect sense, and may just push Kral another step closer to West Ham.
Could Crystal Palace ruin those plans?
Yes. Di Marzio’s report suggests that Palace also have an offer on the table for Lukic and want to lure him to the Premier League.
If Spartak miss out on Lukic, it may make Kral’s move to West Ham a little more difficult with other targets no doubt needed.
London neighbours Palace and West Ham have a strong rivalry already, and Hammers fans may just have a little more anger towards the Eagles if they cause West Ham to miss out on Kral.
