The Sun reports that Fulham are keen to re-sign Ross McCormack on loan – six months after the Aston Villa striker moved in the opposite direction for £12 million.
McCormack has scored just three goals since then and Villa are reportedly prepared to let him leave, although they are said to be holding out for a permanent deal.
At a press conference on Friday, Villans boss Steve Bruce appeared to concede defeat in his pursuit of Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes, however the funds raised through McCormack’s sale could reignite the 56-year-old’s interest.

In contrast, the Independent reports Bruce has already switched targets and will bid for Burnley striker Ashley Barnes next week.
Either way, McCormack is facing a bleak future at Villa Park and a return to Fulham, for whom he scored 42 goals in 100 games between 2014 and 2016, is likely to appeal.
The Cottagers have improved considerably under Slavisa Jokanovic this season, and currently sit eighth in the standings, four points and five places ahead of Villa.

According to the Sun, Fulham could still come up with the funds for a permanent deal for McCormack, however the 30-year-old’s wages mean they would prefer to take him on loan.
