Nicolo Zaniolo looks like he will be leaving Roma this month.

The Italian midfielder is reportedly now considered to be officially on the market after his contract discussions with his current club broke down.

At least that’s what Di Marzio is now reporting.

Indeed, it’s claimed that Zaniolo is now pretty much on the transfer list at the Stadio Olimpico, and Roma want to find a solution that will see the ‘frightening’ player leave the club permanently.

The Serie A giants are willing to sanction either a sale or a loan with an obligation to buy this month, but not a straight loan with any conditions or options to buy.

So, where will Zaniolo end up? A player as talented as this is bound to have plenty of suitors, but according to Di Marzio, the only foreign club to have made an approach for this player is Tottenham.

It’s not surprising at all to hear that Spurs are in for Zaniolo. Tottenham are desperate for different solutions in their midfield and the attack, and with both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici having a constant eye on Serie A, the 23-year-old was always going to end up on Spurs’ radar one way or another.

West Ham have also been credited with an interest, as have Arsenal, but it looks as though Spurs are the team that are the most serious about bringing Zaniolo in.

Tottenham certainly do need new reinforcements, but it will be interesting to see whether or not Daniel Levy decides to back Conte and Paratici heavily this month. After all, their futures are increasingly in doubt after a string of poor results.

One thing looks almost certain, Zaniolo will be leaving Roma this month and there is an opportunity in the offing for Spurs, but whether or not they take this chance remains to be seen.
