According to the Mirror, Frank Lampard is now back in the frame to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.
What’s the story?
Well, the south Londoners had held productive talks with Nuno Espírito Santo, over a period of ten days.
However, Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the deal, after the Portuguese coach made a fresh set of demands on Tuesday night.
Now, Lampard – who the Eagles spoke to before Nuno – is back in the picture, and likely to become a strong contender for the job.
Sean Dyche and Steve Cooper, of Burnley and Swansea respectively, are also in the running to become Crystal Palace manager.
The Mirror claim that initial talks with Lampard didn’t go badly, but discussions with Nuno just happened to go further.
Everton are also interested in Lampard

According to a separate report from the Mirror, Everton are considering Lampard as they search for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.
If that is true, Crystal Palace must make a decision quickly.
It would be heartbreaking for Steve Parish to settle on Lampard, only to watch the 42-year-old move elsewhere after all this time.

As aforesaid, the Eagles spent ten days talking to Nuno, which now seems like a significant waste of time.
The south Londoners can’t afford to waste more time by talking to Lampard, only for him to join another side.
Parish must be swift, with Everton fishing in managerial waters too.
