Celtic and Rangers fans didn’t get to see much of the Scotland under-21 international

Liam Burt looks set to kickstart his career with a move to the League of Ireland.
The 21-year-old began his career as a youth player at Celtic, but was released by the club and went on to the join the Rangers academy setup.
From there the midfielder went on to make his senior debut at the age of 17 in a 2-0 win for Mark Warburton’s side against Raith Rovers in March 2016.
He would only appear in two other games for the club, however, and was sent on loan to Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.

Burt eventually ended up back at Celtic again, signing a two-year deal for Neil Lennon’s team in August 2019.
Success eluded him, though, and he was released in 2020 without having made an appearance for the club.
He went on to have trials with both Barnsley and Sunderland, but was unable to secure a deal at either club.
Record Sport are now reporting that Burt has found a new club, with Dublin the destination.
They say the player is heading to Bohemians, who finished second in Ireland’s top flight last season.

The report quotes Burt as saying: “It’s hard to break into a team with players like Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie who are playing in the Champions League.
“It was a privilege to play for both clubs and I learned a lot from both. Not many people can say they’ve played for Rangers and Celtic.”
His two former clubs are enjoying contrasting fortunes in this season’s Scottish Premiership title race.
Celtic endured yet another disappointment on Saturday when they lost 2-1 at home to Jim Goodwin’s St Mirren.
That result leaves Steven Gerrard’s side 23 points clear.
