Romeo Lavia is more likely to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal than Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, according to a report.
The Independent have reported that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from arse in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners want to make Lavia part of their new-look midfield for next season along with West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
According to the report, although Arenal are not as advanced with Lavia as they are with Rice, the Gunners are “seen as his most likely next club, amid competition from Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United”.
The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has written about Arsenal and Lavia in his Reading the Game email newsletter (12:04pm, June 16, 2023): “Arsenal are seen as considerable favourites for his signature too, amid even stronger competition.”

Exciting Romeo Lavia update for Arsenal, blow for Liverpool
Romeo Lavia is one of the best young defensive midfielders around, and this latest report is a huge boost for Arsenal but a blow for Liverpool.
It seems that Arsenal are the favourites for the 19-year-old Belgium international, who, according to then Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, is “an extremely talented young player”, as quoted on the club’s official website in July 2022.
Liverpool could do with one or two dynamic midfielders like Lavia in the team after the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, it looks like that the former Manchester City prospect is more likely to move to Arsenal instead.
Arsenal’s gain would be Liverpool’s loss.
