Everton are leading the chase to sign £26 million Rubin Kazan star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer transfer window, as reported by Russian publication Soccer.

The list of clubs to express an interest in the 20-year-old Georgia international is so long it would make the Gettysburg Address look like a pep talk.

AC Milan, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan have all been linked in recent weeks, as has a Bayern Munich side that missed out on the chance to sign a teenage Kvaratskhelia in 2018.

Leeds United, meanwhile, held talks with Rubin Kazan recently with director of football Victor Orta pushing to sign a rampant left-winger who has eight assists to his name in 2020/21 (Soccer).

According to reports coming out of Russia today, however, another Premier League side is currently in pole position – Everton.

A lack of creativity in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has frequently undermined Everton’s hopes of European football, with Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi and Andre Gomes flattering to deceive more often than not.

Kvaratskhelia would certainly give the Toffees a new dimension in the final third, a two-footed winger who can play with ease on both flanks.

Rubin Kazan’s president has already confirmed it will take a bid in the region of £26 million to secure Kvaratskhelia’s signature.

The youngster’s father, meanwhile, is “100 per cent” sure his son will have a new club when 2021/22 kicks off.
