According to Expressen, Everton are considering a late move for Robin Olsen, who is also a target for Sheffield United.
What’s the story?
Well, as you will know, Olsen spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Goodison Park, where he competed with Jordan Pickford.
The 31-year-old made seven Premier League appearances, conceding nine goals while keeping two clean sheets.
Expressen believe Rafa Benitez would like to re-sign Olsen on loan.
However, Roma would prefer to sell the 48-cap Sweden international outright, and are asking for 50 million kroner (£5.8m).
Sheffield United, as aforesaid, are also keen. However, it has been said that Olsen has concerns about joining the Blades, which could help Everton.
Why do Everton want Robin Olsen back?

In our view, we’re not quite sure why Everton would want Olsen back.
In fairness, he was a solid presence in between the sticks, and didn’t do much wrong on Merseyside.
However, Benitez has already signed Asmir Begovic since Olsen returned to Rome, so what’s the plan?
Does Benitez want three goalkeepers challenging for the first-team? If so, that seems quite strange.

If the Toffees can seal a loan move, then it would be acceptable.
However, if Benitez spends some of his small budget on another goalkeeper, questions will surely be asked.
With just days until the window ends, Everton should focus on finding a right-back capable of making the starting XI.
If we’re being greedy, perhaps another striker wouldn’t go amiss, with Moise Kean’s future at Everton still quite uncertain.
