Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are now facing competition from Frank Lampard’s Everton for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to But! Football Club.

The report in the French news outlet has claimed that Everton have made contact for Rabiot with a view to signing him in the summer transfer window.

This follows after claims that Newcastle are interested in the 26-year-old France international midfielder, who has won the Ligue 1 title five times with Paris Saint-Germain and the Serie A once with Juventus.

Jeunes Footeux reported in February that Newcastle want Rabiot and have been told to pay £22million.

Newcastle over Everton for Adrien Rabiot

In our opinion, Rabiot would prefer Newcastle to Everton if the Juventus midfielder has offers from both the clubs.

The Toffees may not get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season, but they will still not be in a great state either.

On the other hand, there is a buzz around Newcastle, who are likely to retain their Premier League status for next season.

Newcastle owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), have already shown what they can do by signing Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes in the January transfer window.

The Magpies are just starting their big project, and that could be very tempting for Rabiot.
