Newcastle United have been linked with a swoop for Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot – but he could now be offered up to Chelsea in a deal for Jorginho.

Rabiot was expected to become a star after emerging at Paris Saint-Germain, but has become something of a frustrating case.

The French midfielder chose to leave PSG for Juve in 2019, departing on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

Rabiot hasn’t lived up to expectations in Italy and may now be available this summer, with Newcastle touted as a possible destination.

French news outlet Jeunes Footeux reported in February that Newcastle fancy Rabiot and have been told to pay £22million.

The Magpies have been linked with pretty much everybody under the sun since their takeover, and Rabiot appears to be on the list.

Yet if Newcastle do want to sign Rabiot, they will need to hope that a swap with Chelsea doesn’t go through.

TuttoJuve report that Juventus are desperate to bring Chelsea star Jorginho back to Italy and are willing to strike a part-exchange deal.

The current deal Juve have in mind is sending cash plus Rabiot to Chelsea for Jorginho, though whether the Blues are interested remains to be seen.

Italian international star Jorginho left Serie A in 2018, quitting Napoli to follow Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea.

Juventus seemingly hope Jorginho fancies heading back to Italy, but can’t justify a huge cash deal after splashing out for Dusan Vlahovic in January.

That means Rabiot is part of the deal, potentially leaving Newcastle to miss out.

Branded a ‘total enigma’ by Italian football expert James Horncastle and slammed for a Champions League ‘disaster’ against Villarreal last week, it seems it’s time for Rabiot to leave Juve – but his destination is very unclear as things stand.
