According to BILD, Daniel Levy has offered Ralf Rangnick the Tottenham job as the hunt for José Mourinho’s replacement takes a new twist.

Levy has already failed in attempts to land Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag.

According to The Sun, Spurs have given up on Rodgers after being put off by the £70 million package required to hire him.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano revealed Levy met with Ten Hag, but the meeting was ‘not positive’ – the Dutchman has now signed an extension with Ajax.

Now, it sounds like the 62-year-old Rangnick has been offered the job.

The German has been out of management since leaving RB Leipzig in 2019, although he is well respected in Germany.

Rangnick is also said to be the visionary of Gegenpressing, a tactic used by Jürgen Klopp in which the team presses to regain possession as quickly as possible, rather than drop back.

During his time in management, he won the DFB-Pokal with Schalke 04, and also finished runner-up in the same competition with RB Leipzig before leaving.

Impressively, Rangnick has won 318 games as a manager, having overseen 653 matches.

He averages 1.69 points per game, and has watched his side score 1,115 goals in those 653 matches.

In total, Rangnick has won 1,102 points as a manager.

He seems like an exciting choice to replace Mourinho, and one who the Tottenham fans could take to, due to his style of play.

His approach is far more proactive and fast-paced in comparison to Mourinho’s slow, boring football, so the appointment could be a success.

Now, we must wait and see if Rangnick will accept Levy’s offer.
