According to La Provence, Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Bamba Dieng, with West Ham and Aston Villa also interested in the Marseille gem.

What’s the story?

Well, Dieng has been exceptional this season, leading to plenty of interest from the Premier League – Newcastle are also admirers of the 21-year-old.

La Provence believe the 4-cap Senegal international was heavily monitored by clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands over the summer.

However, Dieng’s efforts this season have now seen him attract admiring glances from the Premier League, a superior division to the top-flight in Belgium and the Netherlands – with all due respect.

The Pikine-born wonderkid has netted four goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances this term, while also providing one assist.

Interestingly, he has been compared to Liverpool forward Sadio Mané.

How much will Bamba Dieng cost Crystal Palace, West Ham or Aston Villa?

La Provence believe Marseille have slapped an €18m (£15m) price tag on their No.12 – a fair price given his high ceiling.

Having said that, the Premier League trio can forget about his valuation for now – there is potentially a bigger issue on the horizon.

Sky Sports are claiming that Dieng has been offered to Newcastle, who have become the richest club on the planet thanks to the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF).

If Sky Sports are telling the truth, then the Magpies would surely have no problem in meeting the £15m asking price.

Keep an eye on this saga, as we could soon see Dieng in the Premier League.
