According to Calciomercato, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are not exactly on the same page at Tottenham as the January transfer window nears.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian news outlet state that Paratici is convinced by Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski, who he brought to Turin in a £29.7m deal in 2020.
However, Conte would prefer to take a different player from Juventus in Weston McKennie.
In fact, the 52-year-old is described as being less ‘enthusiastic’ in regards to a move for Kulusevski – this lack of cohesion isn’t exactly what Spurs need, to say the least.
The Sweden international is a winger by trade, although he can play centrally in more advanced areas.
However, McKennie is more of a traditional central midfield player, who sits deeper and rarely threatens the goal.
Interestingly, the United States international has even been likened to N’Golo Kante, which should give you a good idea about the type of player the £16m man is.
Do Tottenham need Dejan Kulusevski or Weston McKennie more?

Now, this is a tough one, as Spurs already have options in both the midfield and wide departments.
However, some of these options haven’t performed under Conte, such as Steven Bergwijn, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.
The Italian recently said he has finished examining his squad, so the fact he wants McKennie suggests he’s not happy with his midfield options.

We agree with Conte. McKennie is more necessary right now, whereas Kulusevski can probably wait until the summer, in truth.
That’s only if money is tight. Should Daniel Levy be willing to sanction deals for both players, that’s definitely something Tottenham should explore.
