Antonio Conte could reportedly be in London as early as today to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo as manager of Tottenham.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian manager is Spurs’ pick to replace Nuno at the club. Conte has been a free agent since the summer and was on Tottenham’s radar in the summer.
However, the 52-year-old, who has won six league titles as a manager with the likes of Juventus and Chelsea, now looks likely to replace Nuno just a few months after rejecting the club.
As per the report, Conte ‘could be in London today’ to finalise a move Tottenham. Nuno left Spurs this morning following a 3-0 loss to Manchester United over the weekend.
Spurs were poor under Nuno despite the Portuguese manager winning the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award in August. However, since then the north London side’s form has fallen off a cliff.
Huge defeats to the likes of Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal soured the mood around Spurs. Yet Conte now looks set to take over at Tottenham, with Fabio Paratici a close friend of the Italian manager.
Conte appointment is a risky move for Tottenham

Whilst the former Inter boss could bring discipline and success to Tottenham, there’s no denying that Conte is a risky appointment for Spurs. Especially given the nature of how Daniel Levy likes to work.
The Italian manager is infamous for being a hard coach to work with. And with a chairman like Levy, Spurs are taking a massive gamble on Conte after already failing with one manager this season.
