AC Milan will reportedly offer a new contract to Rafael Leao that will triple his wages at the club amid rumours that Arsenal are interested in the striker.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club are confident that the Portuguese international will pen a new contract with Milan, with the Rossoneri even offering Leao a new salary worth triple what the attacker is currently earning.
Reports in Italy in recent weeks have made fresh links between Arsenal and the 22-year-old forward, with La Repubblica recently claiming that the Gunners are leading the chase for Leao ahead of the summer.
A versatile attacker who can play down the middle or out on the left, Leao has been in fine form for Milan this season, with the former LOSC Lille star bagging ten goals and assisting six in all competitions, with his form now catching the eye of Arsenal.
With manager Stefano Pioli incredibly comparing the youngster to Thierry Henry as well as labelling him as ‘extraordinary’, the hype around Leao is very serious in Milan, hence their strong drive to sign the forward down to a new contract.
Indeed, Leao has been crucial to Milan’s push for a first Serie A title in over ten years, and with the club now offering the youngster a lucrative salary, Arsenal’s chances of signing the Portuguese star look next-to-nil.
Leao would have been a poor fit for Arsenal despite Henry comparison

When a top European manager is comparing you to a player as iconic and great as Henry, you know you have something special going on. Yet for Arsenal, Leao doesn’t fit what Mikel Arteta is looking for in the summer.
Whilst the attacker no doubt has incredible potential, it is clear that Arsenal are eager to sign a striker who can lead the line with the ability to hold the ball up and provide support for his teammates, something Leao is not noted for despite his impressive form for Milan.
