French outlet GFFN claim Bordeaux want £12m for Alberth Elis – amid interest from Leeds. Bordeaux have confirmed the permanent £5million signing of Elis, but want a quick profit on the attacker.
Elis, 26, has been in excellent form over the past 12 months. Signed on a loan-to-buy deal from Portuguese side Boavista last summer, the 53-time Honduras international scored nine goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances.
But Bordeaux have been relegated and need to offload some of their key players to ease the club’s finances. Elis is likely to be one of those, especially after Bordeaux announced the permanent arrival of Elis.

Reports earlier this week said that Bordeaux were looking to offload the winger soon after his permanent arrival – and Leeds are keen. An offer has been made for Elis, though it is unclear if it is from Elland Road.
Now, GFFN say Bordeaux want a fee in the region of £12million for the “very fast” Elis despite only signing him this week for less than half of that figure. It remains to be seen if Leeds are willing to pay said fee.
Leeds: Bordeaux want £12m for Elis – potential bargain
Ligue 1 football is rapidly improving. Just look at Raphinha. Signed from Rennes for £17million, he has transformed his value to four times that in just two seasons at Elland Road.
The Brazilian is likely to go this summer, even if it is not to Barcelona – who are struggling to afford him. Indeed, it could be that Elis is a consideration as a possible replacement for Raphinha in the coming months.
Is he worth £12million? To score almost a goal every two games out wide in Ligue 1, for a side that were eventually relegated, is certainly worth £12million. Still young, more than 50 caps, Elis could be a superb signing.
