Report: Club to sign Tottenham target to replace £52m star eyed by Conte

Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing ACF Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, with the rumoured Tottenham target set to replace Milan Skriniar, who is also on Antonio Conte’s radar.

According to FC Inter News, the Nerrazurri have agreed personal terms with the Serie A centre-back as Skriniar inches closer to a move to PSG, with the Slovakian defender likely to join the Ligue 1 champions in a deal worth £52m.

As per FC Inter News, Milenkovic could cost the San Siro side €15m (£12m) as Tottenham now look set to suffer a double blow in the transfer market, with Spurs interested in both the Fiorentina defender and Skriniar, with Fabio Paratici trying to sign the centre-back last summer.

Whilst Conte has made three signings already this summer, centre-back is a position that needs a major addition with Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon reportedly set to leave this summer, and either Milenkovic or Skriniar could have been perfect for the north London side.

However, it’s now back to the drawing board for Tottenham with Milenkovic set to sign for Inter and Skriniar now close to joining PSG, two deals that could be massive coups for both European sides given the quality of both defenders.

Indeed, Inter’s financial problems mean that the massive sale of Skriniar will be a huge boom to the club’s books, with Milenkovic a cost-effective replacement who has proven over the seasons to be an excellent defender in Serie A, with Newcastle United and West Ham previously linked with the Serbian international.

Inter are usually one of the biggest players in any given transfer window, and this summer is proving to be no different with their pending loan signing of Romelu Lukaku and the departure of Skriniar, yet replacing their star defender with Tottenham target Milenkovic is great business from the Italian giants.

The Serb is one of the best in his position in Italy, and with Inter close to securing a £12m deal for Milenkovic, the signing ticks a lot of boxes for what the San Siro side need this summer with Skriniar heading out the door for PSG.
