Emiliano Buendia is expected to leave Norwich City this summer, amid links with Arsenal – the Athletic report.

Arsenal are said to be in the hunt for the Argentine playmaker, and their interest reportedly may intensify if they are unable to land Martin Odegaard permanently.

Interestingly the report does claim that if Arsenal are to make a move for Buendia then they will have to compete with a ‘major’ European side, who also made an enquiry.

Aston Villa are also cited as potential suitors in the report, as interest builds.

Norwich actually earned promotion back to the Premier League year, with Buendia playing a vital role in their success.

However, the Canaries feel that the volume of interest in their star man means that they have little realistic chance of keeping hold of him.

If he was to move to Arsenal he could improve the side in attacking areas.

Buendia, who was labelled as ‘incredible’ by Dean Ashton on TalkSPORT, claimed 15 goals and 17 assists in the Championship this term, making him the most effective playmaker in the second tier.

Buendia also is a hard-worker, and his intense pressing style could match up well with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, who are also keen to play on the front foot.
