AC Milan have edged closer to a deal to sign Serge Aurier from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.
A report in Corriere dello Sport earlier this week claimed that Milan have been in contact with Tottenham over the transfer of Aurier, as covered by HITC Sport here.
Earlier this month, The Daily Mail claimed that Milan have offered £12 million for the Ivory Coast international right-back, but Spurs want as much as £23 million.
However, it seems that a compromise could be made, with The Times reporting that Milan ‘have edged closer to a deal’ for the 27-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur exit
Aurier has been on the books of Tottenham since 2017, but the Ivory Coast international right-back has not always been convincing.
While the right-back is good going on the attack, he makes mistakes at the back.
If Tottenham are able to bring in a better and potentially younger right-back in place of Aurier with the money they will reportedly receive from Milan, then it will be a business well done by the North London outfit.
