AC Milan have made contact with Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier again, according to Corriere Dello Sport in Italy.

Milan are trying to agree a deal with Tottenham for Aurier, but so far they have not been able to meet Daniel Levy’s demands.

Levy is demanding £22 million for the right-back, but Milan want to lower Tottenham’s asking price.

And the purpose of their phone call to Aurier’s agents at the weekend was to find out if there was any room for negotiation.

Milan are seemingly prepared to play a waiting game as they look to seal a cheaper deal for the Tottenham full-back, but wanted an update on the situation.

Aurier, himself, is said to be keen on a move to Italy, as he would like to play in Serie A and sees Milan as a ‘suitable’ club.

The Ivorian has actually played regularly for Tottenham under Mourinho, but that may have been down to necessity rather than choice.

Aurier is Tottenham’s only real recognised senior right-back, meaning the Spurs boss’s options in the position are currently very limited.

If Aurier is to leave Spurs this summer, signing a right-back will surely be high up on the North London’s club’s list of transfer priorities, otherwise they could leave a huge hole in their squad.
