Tottenham Hotspur are back in for Sofyan Amrabat amid claims he is not interested in joining West Ham United this summer.
Sofyan Amrabat doesn’t fancy a move to West Ham United but Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in the midfielder.
That is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Tottenham are back in the race for Amrabat.
It’s stated that Spurs are ‘trying to overtake the competition’ for Amrabat this summer.
However, Barcelona are very interested in the Fiorentina star and fancy him to replace Sergio Busquets in holding midfield.
Barca boss Xavi has already spoken directly with Amrabat with the Catalan giants desperate to pull off a deal.
Spurs, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are in the mix too though with Amrabat still a wanted man.
Amrabat shot to prominence at the World Cup in Qatar as he helped Morocco reach the semi-finals with some exceptional displays.
Described as “outstanding” by former Manchester United star Roy Keane on ITV (7:02pm, December 18, 2022), Amrabat dazzled in Qatar.
A January deal didn’t materialise but Fiorentina will now allegedly let him go for a fee of around €30million (£26million).

Sofyan Amrabat doesn’t fancy West Ham United move
Amrabat tasted heartbreak on Wednesday night as his Fiorentina side lost to West Ham United in the Europa Conference League final.
Fabrizio Romano then quoted Amrabat’s brother Nordin – formerly of Watford – as saying that a move to West Ham would not be happening.
Some had wondered whether West Ham could raid their opponents for Amrabat as a replacement for Declan Rice.
However, Nordin claims that Amrabat is ultimately aiming higher than West Ham and wants to play in Spain.
Barcelona is seemingly the dream move but Xavi’s men are hardly in the best financial shape.
“Sofyan to West Ham? No, he wants to go to the top and his desire is to play in Spain. At Barcelona, he is high on the list but you know Barça’s financial situation” said Amrabat’s brother.
The dream of a move to Spain may just give Atletico real hope, whilst the comments don’t look great for Tottenham.
Spurs have no European football on offer at all this summer, which may impact their ability to attract players.
Amrabat wants to play at the top level and Tottenham just can’t offer from a European perspective, meaning they could be ruled out just like West Ham.
