Eriksson is the latest name to be linked with the Sheffield Wednesday vacancy.

Sven Goran Eriksson has applied for the Sheffield Wednesday manager’s job, the Mirror reports on page 63 of its printed edition on Friday.
Eriksson is out of work after being sacked by Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC last year.
And it is claimed the 69-year-old is being considered by Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri, who wants a ‘big name’ to succeed Carlos Carvalhal.

According to both the Sun and Sheffield Star, however, Wednesday are in talks with Jos Luhukay about the Hillsborough vacancy.
Luhukay has spent his entire coaching career in German football, and managed in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach, FC Augsburg and Hertha BSC.

The 54-year-old, who was most recently employed by VFB Stuttgart, led all three clubs to promotion into the top flight.
Eriksson enjoyed early success at IFK Göteborg, Benfica, Sampdoria and Lazio and spent five years as England manager.
However, the Swede’s post Three Lions career – which includes spells at Manchester City, Mexico, Leicester and a trio of CSL sides – has proved somewhat less fruitful.
