According to Calciomercato, José Mourinho wants to bring Tanguy Ndombele to Roma, after managing him at Tottenham.
What’s the story?
Well, Mourinho is yet to poach any of his old Spurs players, although he could start with Ndombele.
Calciomercato believe the Portuguese coach is looking for a new midfielder, and he feels Ndombele’s abilities fit the profile he is looking for.
The 24-year-old made 57 appearances under Mourinho at Tottenham, scoring six goals while also providing five assists.
Interestingly, the pair did seem to clash on a few occasions in north London.
Mourinho substituted the Frenchman at half-time during a 1-1 draw against Burnley back in March 2020, before criticising the midfielder in the media.
Mourinho also knocked on Ndombele’s door during lockdown to get him out and jogging – the pair were later condemned for breaking the rules.
They certainly had an interesting relationship, to say the least.
Tottenham should offload Tanguy Ndombele

Despite the fact he’s Tottenham’s club-record signing at £53.8m, it’s time for Spurs to part ways with Ndombele.
If Roma are offering anything around £35m or more, we feel Tottenham should take it and reinvest the money.
As The Athletic revealed, Ndombele wants to leave anyway, and is currently damaging his value with each passing game where he fails to perform.

Against Arsenal on Sunday, his work rate was questionable, so much so that Jermaine Jenas described him as ‘shocking‘ – he’s not wrong.
Ndombele could be seen jogging back before Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring, and was just a passenger in general throughout.
At this rate, Tottenham will be begging Mourinho to take Ndombele.
