German newspaper Bild claim Gladbach want a ‘double-digit’ million fee for Marcus Thuram in the January window, but his World Cup inclusion could see his value ‘sky rocket’ – amid interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Italy-born France international Thuram, 25, has been in sensational form this season. Clocking up 17 appearances for Gladbach, the striker already has 17 goal involvements to his name. He has scored 13 goals and laid on four assists.
A surprise inclusion in Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad. But, his future beyond that is much more up in the air. That is largely because of his current contractual situation at Gladbach. His contract expires at the end of the season.
The report states that he would normally be worth £26million. But because of his contractual situation, Gladbach are having to accept a cut-price figure. They want at least double digits. €10million, would be around about £8.75million.
Bild report that Tottenham, Marseille, Inter Milan and Juventus are all interested in Thuram. 90Min say Chelsea have scouted Thuram, while Milan Live say Arsenal and Villa are keen. The race for the Frenchman is hotting up.

Gladbach want double-digit fee for Thuram amid Tottenham interest
Other than those available on a free transfer, there is not going to be a better value-for-money signing than Thuram in January. To get a player of his ability, of his age, of his proven experience, of his goals, for less than £10m is stunning.
His inclusion in the World Cup squad will not directly see his value increase. But it might generate more interest in his services and a bidding war for Thuram will certainly see the price go up. That at least, is what Gladbach will be hoping.
But they do seem resigned to the fact that he will not be signing a new contract at Gladbach. They will look to cash in in January and get as much as possible . That, instead of keeping him until the summer and letting him go on a free.
