According to Tuttosport, Chelsea are now leading the race to sign Gleison Bremer, who Liverpool and Tottenham are also interested in.

What’s the story?

Well, it was Radio Itatiaia who revealed that Liverpool were keen on signing Bremer, and claimed that the Reds had made contact.

Elsewhere, it was Torino Granata who stated that Tottenham were leading the race for the Brazilian’s signature.

Now, it sounds as if Antonio Conte could lose out to his former club, as Thomas Tuchel leapfrogs Spurs and Jürgen Klopp in the queue.

Tuttosport believe the £15m man’s arrival at Stamford Bridge could even be imminent, such is the progress Chelsea have made with the deal.

Bremer has a contract with Torino until June 2023, but he is currently showing no interest in signing a new deal.

As a result, the Serie A side will have to sell him in 2022, unless they want to lose him for nothing in 2023.

Why do Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham want Bremer?

Well, the 24-year-old has been described as one of the best defenders in Italy by Tuttosport, which speaks volumes.

In a division boasting the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Kalidou Koulibaly, Matthijs de Ligt and others, that is very high praise indeed.

In our view, even if one of the Premier League trio miss out, at least two could come out of this saga smiling.

Why? Well, both Liverpool and Tottenham are said to be interested in signing Antonio Rudiger when his Chelsea contract expires in June.

Presumably, Bremer would be the German’s replacement.

Therefore, Chelsea could come away with Bremer, while one of Liverpool and Tottenham may win the race for Rudiger.

With January on the horizon, the first transfer merry-go-round looks to have arrived.
