According to the Daily Star on Sunday (20/06, p43), Celtic want to raid Aston Villa for goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo.
Villa signed Sinisalo from FC Espoo in his native Finland back in 2018, but he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.
Villa seemingly have high hopes for the stopper, but after a loan spell at Ayr United, Sinisalo now finds himself a wanted man.
Celtic want Sinisalo move
It’s stated that Celtic are keen to lure Sinisalo up to Parkhead having seemingly been impressed with his performances at Ayr, where his performances were praised as ‘excellent’ and ‘incredible’.
The Bhoys have been unsettled between the sticks for some time now, with Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard all featuring in goal last season.
Sinisalo is only 19, but Celtic may well feel that he can be their long-term solution between the sticks if they can prise him away from Villa.

Celtic face huge competition
Villa rating Sinisalo highly is one problem for Celtic, but interest from other clubs is another, with Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig thought to be keen too.
Taking on the Bundesliga champions won’t be easy for Celtic, especially having lost Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn to Bayern in recent times.
Leipzig have real ambition too, offering a great platform for young players. If Celtic want Sinisalo, they’re going to have to pull out all the stops.
