According to Sky Sports, Celtic are once again interested in loaning Manchester City right-back Yan Couto.

The Brazilian is a talented young defender, and with the Bhoys in the market for a new right-back, this looks like a smart move.

It’s no secret that the Scottish outfit want to bolster that spot this summer, they’ve been heavily linked with a move for George Baldock, but now it seems as though they may go for a younger option.

So, what type of player is Couto? Well, South American football expert Tim Vickery has had a number of good things to say about him, comparing him to Dani Alves.

“He hasn’t got the physicality of maybe a Cafu, but he has got a lot of things of Daniel Alves at right-back,” Vickery said.

“He has got pace, he has got the lung power to keep going, he has lots of technique and ability, he can both dribble and pass, and he seems to choose his options very, very well.”

That review is certainly exciting, and if Celtic are able to bring him to Celtic Park, it’s fair to say he may be a handy addition.

City are unlikely to stand between Couto and a loan move this summer. After all, the Brazilian is behind the likes of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo in the pecking order at the Etihad.

This could be a great loan move if the Bhoys can pull it off.
