Celtic are monitoring Moritz Jenz as Lausanne-Sport are expected to sell the defender this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.
Ange Postecoglou is desperate to add depth to the Parkhead backline ahead of the new Premiership season. The Greek wants the Hoops to sign options who can play at centre and right-back, as the squad is not up to scratch.
Jenz could solve both of Postecoglou’s concerns, with the Lausanne-Sport man a versatile operator with plenty of experience in both. The 22-year-old will not see Celtic break the bank, either, as his Swiss Super League side only want £1m.

Celtic’s scouts have been informed that Lausanne-Sport are open to selling Jenz, two years before his contract expires. But clubs from around Europe are also monitoring the former Fulham prospect, with a summer transfer very likely.
Jenz only left the Cottagers’ academy for first-team football in Switzerland last August and made a big impression. The Berlin-born enforcer started 27 of his 31 appearances across all competitions, and helped to seven clean sheets.
He also scored once to claim a point against FC Sion and assisted against Vaduz in a 3-0 win. The German’s stay at the Stade de la Tuiliere could be short-lived, however, as les bleu et blanc consider a quick payday.
Jenz could solve Postecoglou’s needs with Celtic move for Lausanne-Sport defender
Jenz could be the answer to Postecoglou’s desperate defensive needs if Celtic sign the Lausanne-Sport enforcer. His versatility will be a big boost for the Greek coach, and saves the Hoops signing two players.
The Hoops should easily be able to match Lausanne-Sport’s demands, as well, and have funds spare for other targets, too. Postecoglou will not expect Jenz to arrive just to make up the numbers at Parkhead, either.
Jenz showed his leadership qualities in Fulham’s U23s and was impressive under Giorgio Contini at Lausanne-Sport. The German was hard to beat on the ground, could read play well and knew when he needed to step in to make a tackle. He could be a real bargain.
