According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have blown Torino out of the water with their offer to sign Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic.

The Bhoys now have a manager on board in Ange Postecoglou, and their transfer activity could now ramp up ahead of the new season.

Celtic need a number of defensive reinforcements this summer, and it looks like Vuskovic is emerging as one of their top targets.

Celtic’s offer to Vuskovic

It’s stated that Torino want to sign Vuskovic in a deal that could be worth around £5million, but the Italian side are lagging behind.

Celtic have allegedly blown Torino out of the water with their contract offer – a four-year deal worth £12,000-a-week.

That’s thought to be double what Torino are offering, meaning Celtic are clear favourites to sign the teenager this summer.

Feyenoord and Basel are keen too, but with Celtic offering such an enticing deal, Glasgow looks like Vuskovic’s likely destination.

Who is Mario Vuskovic?

The Scottish Sun reported Celtic’s interest just a few days ago, and it now seems that the 19-year-old will bolster Postecoglou’s side.

Vuskovic was born in Split and joined Hajduk from neighbours RNK Split in 2016. Primarily a centre back, Vuskovic now has 44 first-team games for Hajduk.

Vuskovic’s attacking play has also been praised though. In 2018, Hajduk academy boss Kresimir Gojun suggested that Vuskovic can ‘score from free kicks like a No 10’, and he bagged three goals last season.

With Kristoffer Ajer potentially on the move, Vuskovic ticks the boxes for Celtic in terms of being young, talented and having huge resale value – and that contract offer could seal the deal.
