According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic have opened talks with Hajduk Split as they attempt to get a deal done for Mario Vuskovic.
Ange Postecoglou arrived in Glasgow on Wednesday as the Australian gets down to work having been appointed as Celtic’s new boss.
With no director of football in place, some thought Celtic would be slow in the transfer market – but it now looks like Celtic are pushing for Vuskovic.
Celtic’s pursuit of Vuskovic
It’s claimed that Celtic scouts watched Vuskovic ‘several times’ last season and are now convinced enough to make a move.
Vuskovic would allegedly cost around £5million this summer, marking a major outlay from Celtic as they look to back new boss Postegolou.
Torino are also thought to be keen, with Hajduk deciding that Vuskovic will be sold this summer in order to raise money.

Who is Mario Vuskovic?
Born in Split, Vuskovic has now played 44 times for his hometown team having joined from neighbours RNK Split in 2016.
The 19-year-old predominantly plays as a centre back, and could now follow in the footsteps of Filip Benkovic and Jozo Simunovic in playing for Celtic after starring in Croatia.
Vuskovic has bagged three goals and two assists for Hajduk, but back in 2018, Hajduk academy boss Kresimir Gojun suggested that Vuskovic can ‘score from free kicks like a No 10’.
That shows the technical ability Vuskovic possesses, and with huge potential at just 19, Vuskovic could be an exciting start to the summer for Celtic.
