Burnley have made a renewed bid for the Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claimed last month the Clarets were trying to push through a £12 million deal for Clucas, only for the trail to run cold in recent weeks.

But the Sun reports Sean Dyche has returned with an £8 million offer that Swansea have found acceptable, and hopes to conclude the transfer by this weekend.

Swansea’s pursuit of Ryan Woods is cited as one reason behind Burnley’s alleged breakthrough.

The Brentford midfielder could cost the Welsh side £7 million, according to the Sun – a figure Clucas’s sale should cover.

Clucas, who left Hull in similar circumstances a year ago, is described as being ‘desperate’ for a Premier League return.
