Burnley look to have switched targets from the Leeds United talisman.

Burnley have made an offer for Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone after Leeds United rejected two bids for Chris Wood, according Sky Sports.

The Clarets offered £12 million for Wood last week and were planning a renewed bid of £20 million, according to The Daily Mail. However, it is unclear how much the second offer amounted to.

Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen previously insisted the Championship side would not entertain further approaches for the New Zealand international, who scored 30 goals last season across all competitions.

And it appears Burnley could be ready to give up their pursuit, having placed an £11.8 million bid for Andone, according to Sky Sports.

The Romanian only moved to Galicia a year ago for £4.5 million – having been on the books of Catsellon, Villarreal and Cordoba before then – and proceeded to score 12 goals in 37 La Liga outings last term.

Burnley have also been credited with interest in Southampton striker Shane Long, in Tuesday’s printed edition of The Daily Mirror.

And despite their reluctance to part with Wood, Leeds are also said to be seeking another striker this summer, with Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Ross McCormack linked this week.
