According to Sport1, Bayer Leverkusen are currently negotiating with Leicester City over the potential signing of Demarai Gray.

The winger is down to the final six months of his contract, and with reports claiming that he and Brendan Rodgers barely speak at the training ground, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see him leaving this month.

Bayer Leverkusen are of course free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him with a view to Gray joining in the summer, but it seems as though the German outfit are keen to get him through the door as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, negotiations have hit a bit of a stumbling block due to Leicester’s asking price.

Indeed, the Foxes are asking for just over €2m (£1.8m), and while that is a very modest asking price for a player of Gray’s talent, Leverkusen still believe it is too much.

This may be one of Leicester’s last chances to get any sort of fee for the winger, so they may want to sell him for a cut-price, but one would imagine that the Midlands outfit would be able to find a club willing to pay £1.8m for the former Birmingham City man.

It seems as though Gray won’t be a Leicester City player for much longer, so it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up, especially after Tottenham and Southampton were linked recently.

This is certainly a situation that is worth keeping an eye on.
