Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has detailed the ongoing issues between Demarai Gray and Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.
It’s no secret that Gray isn’t happy at Leicester. He hasn’t been playing much this season and he’s refused to sign a new contract.
Despite the fact that Brendan Rodgers claims there are no issues between him and the player, Castles has it on good authority from sources close to the player that there are underlying issues.
“The issues with Rodgers, although Rodgers says he has no issues with the player, what I’m hearing from the player’s side is different and that in-fact, Rodgers rarely speaks to the player at the training ground at present, and that there’s been a significant stand-off between the two for some time now, and that is a factor in Gray’s decision on not accepting a new contract at Leicester.”
This is a shame on a number of levels.
Gray’s career is going in the wrong direction, and it mustn’t be nice for him going into work every day in such a frosty atmosphere.
Of course, we don’t know the ins and outs of why Rodgers and Gray have seemingly fallen out, but luckily it seems as though this saga could have a conclusion sooner rather than later.
It remains to be seen where Gray ends up, but it seems as though he won’t be spending much longer at the Foxes.
