Norwich City are in talks to sign reported Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers target William Carvalho.

According to Sky Sports News, the Premier League side are in negotiations with the 63-cap Portuguese international. Norwich are eager to add a midfielder in before the end of the transfer window, and Carvalho is just one of the players the Canaries are eyeing.

Estadio Deportivo reported earlier in the window that both Leicester and Wolves are interested in Carvalho.

Real Betis are eager to sell the defensive midfielder this window. With the former Sporting Lisbon star one of the club’s highest-paid players.

With Norwich currently sat bottom of the Premier League table, Daniel Farke’s side could pull off an impressive coup if they are able to sign the 29-year-old international.

Indeed, the Canaries are one of the favourites to go down this season. Yet signing a player of Carvalho’s experience and quality would be a huge boost in their chances of retaining top-flight status next year.

With Wolves and Leicester previously holding an interest in Carvalho, though, there is a chance that either side could re-enter the frame for the Betis dynamo. The window shuts in five days.

Indeed, the midfielder is likely to leave Betis the window. Moreover, with time running out, Norwich will have to work fast if they are to pull off one of the most shrewd signings of the summer in Carvalho.
