According to The Athletic, Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson will not play against Real Madrid in the Champions League next month.
It has been reported that the England international midfielder is not expected to be back in action in time for the quarter-final tie between Liverpool and Madrid.
The first leg of the tie will be held in Madrid on April 6, with the second leg to be played at Anfield on April 14.
Henderson – who has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2011 when he joined from Sunderland for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £20 million – is on the sidelines at the moment after undergoing surgery on his groin injury that he picked up in the Merseyside derby against Everton.

It is a blow for Liverpool, as Henderson is a key player in the team and would normally start against Madrid.
The 30-year-old himself would be gutted, as one suspects that the midfielder would have loved to play against the defending Spanish champions.
Henderson will still be an influential figure, as he is the captain and will be helping out his teammates with advice and suggestions in the build-up to the tie.
