Jordan Henderson has taken to social media after Liverpool announced that he’d had surgery on his groin injury.
The Reds’ captain picked up an issue against Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend, and unfortunately, it seems as though this problem is a serious one.
Indeed, Henderson had to go under the knife to fix his groin problem, and he’ll be out of action for a number of weeks while he recovers.
The extent of the skipper’s issue was confirmed on Friday morning, and he tweeted his feelings after it was announced.
As you can probably imagine, Henderson is absolutely gutted to be ruled out for a number of weeks.
However, the captain has vowed to continue supporting the team in any way he can, and that’s the sign of a true captain.
Henderson’s talents will certainly be missed on the pitch, but it seems as though his leadership behind the scenes will still be present.
Hopefully, Henderson’s recovery goes well and he’s back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
