According to The Sunday Mirror (20/06, p77), Marcelo Bielsa could play a big role if Arsenal miss out on Ben White to Paris Saint-Germain.
White enjoyed a fine season with Brighton and Hove Albion, and ended up landing himself a spot in the England squad for Euro 2020.
White may not be with Brighton much longer though, as there is huge interest in his signature this summer.
What’s the latest on White to Arsenal?
Arsenal have been leading the race for White, but had a £40million bid for the centre back rejected by Brighton just a few days ago.
The Daily Mail claim that White does fancy a move to Arsenal, whilst Football.London suggest that a second bid is imminent.
Many thought that Arsenal wouldn’t have a huge budget to work with this summer, but a move for White would allegedly cost at least £50million.

So what about PSG?
It’s now claimed that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign White, and are preparing to hijack Arsenal’s move.
Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be a big fan of White, and has even received glowing reports from Marcelo Bielsa about the defender.
Bielsa is Pochettino’s mentor from their time back in Argentina, and managed White at Leeds United last season.
Playing for Pochettino could be appealing given how much White enjoyed featuring under Bielsa, meaning Arsenal’s task has just become even harder.
