Bayern Munich have now joined Liverpool and Tottenham in the race to sign Manchester City target Giorgio Scalvini.

What’s the story?

Well, it was Calciomercato who revealed that Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola both want to sign the Italy international.

Elsewhere, Calcio Mercato Web revealed Tottenham want Scalvini – as well as Ruslan Malinovskyi – in a double deal from Atalanta.

Now, the Premier League trio face competition from a European giant in Bayern Munich.

Tuttosport believe the German champions have joined the race for the 18-year-old’s signature, after he burst onto the scene in Italy with Atalanta.

The £27,000-a-week wonderkid has made 11 appearances in Serie A so far this season, as Atalanta sit sixth in Italy’s top-flight.

Roberto Mancini has already handed Scalvini three caps for Italy, which speaks volumes about just how highly rated the teenager is.

Tuttosport add that Atalanta value their No.42 at a sum in the region of €30m – €40m (£26m – £35m).

Tottenham may have advantage over Bayern Munich, Liverpool & Manchester City

In our view, Tottenham may have the best chance of signing Scalvini.

Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Spurs – has a number of contacts in Italian football, which have already helped him bring Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski to north London.

His influence in Italian football also saw him lure Cristian Romero away from Atalanta, after the Argentina international was named Best Defender in Serie A.

Furthermore, the chance to work under one of Italy’s greatest coaches in Antonio Conte could be too much for Scalvini to resist, and there seems to be a place in the starting XI with his name on it.

Clement Lenglet has failed to impress during his season-long loan from Barcelona, and The Times believe Conte wants a new centre-back in January.

Therefore, it would make a lot of sense if Scalvini ends up in N17 – be sure to keep an eye on this situation.
