FC Barcelona reportedly have internal members who are huge fans of Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, a player Arsenal have been heavily linked with in the past few months.

According to Sport, coaches at the Catalan club ‘love’ the Swedish international, with the 21-year-old a target for Barcelona in the summer if they fail to sign Erling Haaland, who remains their first-choice option ahead of the off-season.

With a release clause of €90m (£75m), Isak will be an expensive option for any club who wishes to sign the youngster this window, with Arsenal the side most strongly linked with the former Borussia Dortmund star.

As per Sport, Arsenal are big fans of the forward, with Edu Gaspar eager to bring the striker to the Emirates Stadium in the summer as the Gunners aim to sign a centre-forward to replace Alexandre Lacazette at the point of the attack.

Whilst Barcelona remain interested in Haaland, Isak could realistically emerge as a candidate for the La Liga side, with the Norwegian international being chased by every European club who can afford the Bundesliga superstar.

For Arsenal, though, this news that Barcelona are internally big fans of Isak could cause some problems in the summer, with the Athletic reporting that the Gunners have a limited shortlist for the striker position.

With Arsenal missing out on Isak in January, the summer will prove to be a massive window for the Gunners, with Edu eager to repeat the success he managed last year, and Barcelona’s rampant interest in Isak could cause some problems.

Whilst Arsenal have other options on their agenda such as Jonathan David and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Isak has emerged as the favourite for supporters given his age, physical traits and partnership with Martin Odegaard, yet Barcelona now pose a major threat.
