Rangers reportedly face strong competition for the signing of teenage Spanish talent Pablo Torre, with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid now in the race for the 18-year-old.
According to Marca, the attacking midfielder has caught the eye of the Spanish giants, with Torre’s ‘daring’ performances and quality for Racing Santander in the Segunda Divisions putting the youngster on the radar for many clubs.
With six goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, the Spain U-19 international is thriving this campaign, and now Barcelona and Madrid could make a move for Torre this summer, with Rangers also in the mix for the teenager.
The Daily Record reported in January that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are keen on Torre, with the midfielder having a reported release clause of just £4m, which could prove to be a steal for Rangers, Barcelona and Madrid.
Indeed, talent from the Spanish second-tier has been impressive in recent years, with Pedri catching the eye with Las Palmas in the Segunda before signing for Barcelona in 2020 and becoming a superstar for the club as well as a regular for La Roja.
Whilst the Catalan side and Madrid will be the favourites to sign Torre, Rangers could stake a claim in the race given their impressive record of picking up talented youngsters across Europe in recent years.
Rangers can still win Torre race despite Barcelona & Madrid interest

Barcelona and Madrid will always be a tempting destination for any player in football, let alone plying their trade in Spain, yet that doesn’t mean Rangers are out of the race for Torre just yet.
With a £4m release clause, Rangers can easily match Santander’s demands this summer if they are serious about signing Torre, and a move to the Scottish giants could be tempting given the lack of opportunities the midfielder will likely have at Barcelona and Madrid.
