Aston Villa are looking to sign two new central midfielders before the close of the transfer window.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Steve Bruce is targeting signing two new central midfielders for Aston Villa.
Villa have lodged bids for Conor Hourihane, Adlene Guedioura and Henri Lansbury in recent times.
The progress has been slow for Villa in their pursuit of all three players, but they are desperate to seal two of them before the close of the month.

HITC have reported that Hourihane has become Villa’s number one target in January, with the Barnsley midfielder available for a cut-price due to his contract situation.
Hourihane’s deal at Barnsley expires at the end of the season, meaning he could be available on the cheap this month.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lansbury is in exactly the same situation, but he could be a more expensive option.
Forest are thought to be looking to receive around £3 million for the former Arsenal player (Nottingham Post).
Guedioura, meanwhile, has struggled to feature for Watford so far this term – and Villa could have a chance of sealing a deal.
