Aston Villa are looking to sell midfield duo Carles Gil and Jordan Veretout this summer.
Aston Villa Manager Steve Bruce
When Aston Villa owner, Tony Xia, conceded last month that the club would have to operate conservatively in the transfer market, the alarm bell was already rung.
The Daily Mirror reported that Steve Bruce had been given just £1 million to spend in the transfer market this summer. It became quite evident that Villa would have to move players on before signing new ones.
According to reports from Sunday Mercury (Printed edition page 55), Villa are looking to cash in on midfield duo – Carles Gil and Jordan Veretout.
Aston Villa’s Carles Gil
The report states that Villa are looking for a fee around £9m-£10 million for both players. If they can be moved on for the right amount, only then can Villa start tracking Bruce’s targets.
Gil, the former Valencia midfielder, spent the last season on loan at Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna, where he scored one goal and provided four assists in all competitions.

Veretout also spent the 2016/17 campaign away from Villa Park with French outfit St Etienne. He scored four goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.
If Villa can get £10 million for both players it will represent a decent piece of business, and will help Bruce sign players of his own choice.
