Ben Chrisene is making a big impact at Aston Villa, with his teammates believing the former Exeter City wonderkid is the brightest young talent at the Premier League club, as reported by The Athletic.
The future, at Villa Park, looks brighter than David Dickenson’s creosote tan.
Dean Smith and co have put together a talented crop of players who will only get better, with Jack Grealish, Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Olly Watkins and Douglas Luiz all under the age of 26.
Behind the scenes at Bodymoor Heath, however, things are just as exciting – if not more so.
It is no secret that the Midland giants, under academy manager Mark Harrison, have been scouring the market for the most exciting teenage talent Europe has to offer, snapping up the likes of Lamare Bogarde, Sil Swinkels and Louie Barry while retaining the services of Carney Chukwuemeka and Jaden Philogene-Bidace.
The future’s bright at Aston Villa
Chukwuemeka, who sparkled on his Premier League debut against Tottenham last week, is perhaps the most high-profile of Villa’s next generation, earning admiring glances from some of the game’s biggest clubs due to his technical ability and a maturity beyond his years.

According to The Athletic, however, 17-year-old Chrisene is viewed by his Aston Villa teammates as the cream of a very tasty crop.
The Midland giants fought off competition from Bayern Munich and Chelsea to sign the teenage winger last year, with the report adding that Chrisene was ‘blown away’ by Villa’s tailored plans for his development.
The fleet-footed forward justified Villa’s faith with a brilliantly-taken goal in this week’s 2-1 FA Youth Cup final win over Liverpool too.
Should he continue like this, Chrisene will be joining Chukwuemeka and Philogene-Bidace in Smith’s first-team plans before long.
