According to Goal, defender Sergino Dest is at risk of being sold by Barcelona this summer amid links with a move to Arsenal.

It’s claimed that Barcelona are planning to offload a host of players, and just Lionel Messi, Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are considered untouchable.

Everybody else is at risk of going, and Dest is thought to be in that category just a year since arriving from Ajax.

Arsenal’s interest in Dest

SPORT reported late in May that Arsenal had ‘touched base’ with Dest to find out whether he would be interested in a move to North London.

Dest was ‘only thinking about Barcelona’ then, seemingly indicating that he had no interest in leaving the Camp Nou.

However, Barcelona are now seemingly open to selling Dest this summer, which could be great news for Arsenal.

Do Arsenal need a right back?

Yes, very much so.

Hector Bellerin looks poised to leave Arsenal this summer, whilst Cedric Soares is only cover and Calum Chambers isn’t particularly expansive going forward.

Dest is very quick and attack-minded, meaning he can offer much more than Chambers going forward whilst having huge potential at just 20.

It still won’t be easy for Arsenal to get Dest out of Barcelona, but there seems to be a little more encouragement than there was a few weeks ago.
