Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan Ndicka is reportedly likely to leave the club this summer, with Arsenal a long-term suitor for the French centre-back.

According to Sport Bild via GGFN, the Bundesliga defender could be on the move this summer following a terrible campaign from Frankfurt, currently sitting 10th in the standings despite progressing to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League.

And now, multiple big-name players for the club could depart this summer, with Daichi Kamada and Filip Kostic also likely to move on from Frankfurt, yet Ndicka could be the biggest name to exit the club with Arsenal reportedly interested.

The Express reported last summer that Arsenal were keen on Ndicka, who has often been compared to FC Barcelona defender and fellow Frenchman Samuel Umtiti as per the Bundesliga’s official website.

Whilst the Gunners have settled on a centre-back pairing this season in Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White, Rob Holding remains Arsenal’s only backup option, with William Saliba likely to return to the club for good in the summer.

Indeed, if Arsenal return to Europe next season, an extra quality centre-back could be welcome, and Ndicka might be a solid option, with Sport Bild stating that Frankfurt will accept €25m (£20m) for the defender.

Saliba’s future hinges on if Arsenal move for Frankfurt star Ndicka

As mentioned, Arsenal could see Saliba finally make his introduction to the Gunners first-team next season after a brilliant campaign on loan with Olympique Marseille, and this move could decide if the north London side make a move to sign Ndicka from Frankfurt.

After all, Mikel Arteta is now forming the Arsenal squad in his image, and what to do with Saliba in the summer will be a huge deciding factor on if the Basque coach opts to make a move for Ndicka, who could leave Frankfurt for cheap this summer.
